Although most famous for his renovations of major championship sites like Bethpage, site of this year’s U.S. Open, and Hazeltine National (PGA Championship), Rees Jones brings the same eye for detail to his original designs.
 
That sense was honed at the foot of his father, the legendary Robert Trent Jones Sr., with whom Rees apprenticed before setting off on his own. If the USGA can rely on Jones to prepare a course for Tiger and Phil, imagine what he can do with a blank canvas.
