Pete Dye
Almost singlehandedly, Pete Dye changed the course of golf course architecture, ushering in the modern era of course design. His innovative, visually arresting courses have inspired other architects to follow suit, a trend that has made the game more fun for all golfers, including the pros, who play on many of his Dye’s courses.
But average players don’t need to have tour-like games to enjoy playing a Dye track. Dye opines that most golfers love to get beaten up on the course, and the popularity of his tracks is certainly proof of that belief.
