Few current player-architects bring as much thought to their designs as Davis Love III. Davis and his brother, Mark, work as closely together when they build courses as they did when Mark was Davis’ caddie, including at the 1997 PGA Championship, Love’s sole major win.
 
One of the longest hitters in golf, Love brings a unique perspective to course architecture. He says he has to build courses to challenge his own game, marked by 300-yard drives and towering irons, in addition to making them fun for golfers like his mother, Penta.
